  As a kind of engineering plastics, ABS has a wide range of applications due to its high surface gloss, easy processing and other excellent characteristics, mainly used in all kinds of electrical shell, electronic and electrical shell, etc. However, in recent years, consumers pay more attention to the flame retardant characteristics of electrical enclosure, so it is a market trend to prepare flame retardant ABS by adding flame retardant on the basis of ABS. Therefore, the biggest difference between ABS and flame retardant ABS is flame retardant performance.

  Generally, the flame retardant performance of flame retardant ABS is improved by adding inorganic flame retardant. However, if the amount of inorganic flame retardant is too much, the impact performance and other physical properties of ABS will be greatly reduced. Therefore, the highest flame retardant grade of flame retardant ABS is UL94 V0 with appropriate addition amount. In addition, because flame retardant and other modified additives are added to the flame retardant ABS, the density, temperature resistance, impact and other physical properties of flame retardant ABS are higher or worse than ordinary ABS. Generally, the temperature resistance of common flame retardant ABS on the market is about 80 ℃, while the temperature resistance of ordinary ABS can reach more than 100 ℃, the density is generally about 1.2, while the density of ordinary ABS is about 1.05, the notch impact is generally about 10-15, and the notch impact of ordinary ABS is generally about 20.

  A new type of flame retardant ABS alloy was prepared by blending ABS compatible and flame retardant materials. The new flame retardant ABS alloy increases its combustion resistance through the flame retardant of the material itself, so the amount of flame retardant added is less, the impact on the physical properties of the material is smaller, but its flame retardant performance is higher. At present, the general model of this material is ul94-v0. If customers have special requirements and need higher flame retardant performance, ul94-5va can be achieved at the highest.
